AbstractTwo patients with postoperative subdural empyema following burr hole evacuation of chronic subdural haematoma are reported, both caused by Propionibacterium acnes. The need to consider this diagnosis in patients developing recurrent symptoms after surgical drainage of chronic subdural haematoma is emphasized.
