AbstractBedside handover has been proposed as a patient-focused nursing practice model with the potential to reduce adverse events and improve standards of care. This pre-/postintervention study examined changes in completion of nursing care tasks and documentation after the implementation of bedside handover. Analysis of 754 cases revealed significant improvements in several nursing care tasks and documentation, whereas there was no variation in handover duration. Implementing bedside handover may enhance nursing care for hospitalized patients.
