AbstractCowden's Disease or multiple hamartoma syndrome is an autosomal dominant genodermatosis associated with abnormalities of the breast, thyroid gland, gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system. A large percentage of these patients have goiters or other thyroid abnormalities. Physicians should consider the diagnosis of Cowden's disease in patients presenting with thyroid disease and skin lesions such as papules or skin tags and if present these subjects should be screened for other malignancies associated with this disease.
