    AbstractFor patients with submassive pulmonary embolism, failure of the right ventricle can often be visualized by 2-dimensional echocardiography. We used strain analysis to demonstrate changes in the regional right ventricular free wall performance during the acute and recovery stages of pulmonary embolism.
