AbstractThe American Society of Cytopathology has provided guidelines for goals and objectives for cytopathology fellows. There are 90 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited cytopathology fellowship training programs in the United States, each with its own unique curriculum designed to achieve these goals and objectives. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education cytopathology fellowship milestones were developed to ensure some uniformity in the outcomes of the various skill sets and competencies expected of a graduating cytopathology fellow. The rationale, development, and details of the cytopathology fellowship milestones are described herein.© 2014 American Cancer Society.
