    AbstractOne of the most controversial ethical dilemmas faced by perioperative nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia care providers is the do-not-resuscitate (DNR) order for a surgical patient. This article discusses informed consent, decision makers, laws and policy, DNR orders, and ethical considerations.
