AbstractRecovery from acute kidney injury (AKI) is related to long-term prognosis. This study, involving 56 patients with AKI and 56 controls from a prospective cohort undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), investigated the prognostic performance of serum levels of advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) for predicting non-recovered AKI and non-completely recovered AKI. AOPP levels increased significantly 7 days after surgery in patients with non-recovered or non-completely recovered AKI. Increased AOPP levels were associated with both types of poor recovery from AKI. Results from receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves demonstrated that AOPP levels had good prognostic value for predicting non-recovered and non-completely recovered AKI.
