AbstractChronic kidney disease is becoming more prevalent in the United States. The National Kidney Foundation has recently published a new set of guidelines to assist clinicians in providing earlier detection and treatment of kidney disease to minimize the progression to end-stage renal disease. As approximately 11% of the adult population has some degree of kidney disease, this new CPG should be applicable in many settings.
