AbstractWe report the case of a 36-year-old woman who suffered tracheal dilatation and rupture despite careful monitoring of intracuff pressure. Surgical manipulation, postoperative mediastinitis, and bacterial staphylococcal tracheitis may be involved in the development of this complication.
