AbstractRegarding patients being treated for breast cancer and on oral capecitabine, the main side effect is the hand-foot syndrome (HFS), or Palmar-Plantar Erythrodysesthesia (PPE).). This could be inconvenient or even debilitating depending on the grade. The Day Care Centre at the Institut Curie in Paris (75) conducted a prospective study on patients treated with oral capecitabine for advanced breast cancer, to assess the rate of appearance of the hand-foot syndrome and the impact of paramedical follow-up on the occurrence of this side effect.
