    AbstractSince the first edition of Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guidelines, the administration of intravenous antibiotics in the first hours of sepsis is recommend. However, in the last ten years, several studies around importance of early antibiotics in emergency room or in intensive care unit produced disparate results. Therefore, is early administration of antibiotics a life-salver? In this article, we explore studies around this theme and some questions about what does "early antibiotics" mean are addressed.
