    AbstractTwo patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease developed postoperatively bronchospasm after insertion of a prostetic aortic valve. Continuous sedation with propofol infusion was associated with a significant decline in peak inspiratory pressure suggesting that propofol may have bronchodilating properties.
