BackgroundPituitary apoplexy is a rare complication of the initial administration of leuprolide acetate.Case DescriptionWe present the case of a 63-year-old man who experienced headache, blurred vision, and loss of consciousness after initial leuprolide treatment for prostate carcinoma. Neuroimaging showed pituitary hemorrhage.ConclusionsClinicians should be aware of this rare but known complication of leuprolide injection so that prompt diagnosis and treatment initiation are performed in patients with leuprolide-associated pituitary apoplexy.Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc.
