    AbstractAlthough pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest is uncommon, out-of-hospital survival is dismal. Through international consensus conferences, the American Heart Association develops new treatment recommendations for cardiopulmonary resuscitation every few years. The recent changes in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric advanced life support, with some background information about these changes, will be reviewed.
