    AbstractThis article aims to increase healthcare professionals' understanding of the pre and post-operative care of patients undergoing stoma-forming surgery. Areas covered include pre-operative information given to patients, post-operative nursing care and psychological considerations that should be taken into account for any patient undergoing stoma-forming surgery.
