AbstractFor the individual design of ear moulds, silicone is generally used for taking the impression of the external meatus and the cavum conchae. Complications are rare with only a few accounts in the literature. We report on three cases of accidental displacement of silicone into the middle ear cavity during impression taking. Clinical symptoms and detection of silicone as a rare middle ear foreign body are presented and discussed.
