    The treatment of a spontaneous dissecting aneurysm in the extracranial vertebral artery with covered-stent: a case report.

    ObjectiveTo treat a 13-year-old boy with a spontaneous vertebrobasilar artery dissecting aneurysm in the extracranial artery, which was only 1 mm away from the initial segment of subclavian artery.MethodsA covered stent was inserted to block the artery of the vertebrobasilar artery dissecting aneurysm.ResultsThe vertebrobasilar artery dissecting aneurysm was successfully treated without complications.ConclusionsThe procedure is a fast, reliable, effective, and economical technique, particularly suitable for surgeries in settings with limited resources.Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc.
