AbstractEmphasis of the article is on the chronic instabilities in the ankle joint and the talocalcaneonavicular joint. The diagnosis of these lesions is demonstrated. An easy to perform technique of x-ray film to prove chronic instability in the talocalcaneonavicular joint is presented. Assessment of luxatio pedis sub talo and of the total dislocation of the talus with its associated lesions is performed with the help of a review of the literature and a description of 12 patients examined by the authors.
