AbstractGiant cell reparative granuloma (GCRG) is an uncommon non-neoplastic reactive tumor that occurs almost exclusively within the mandible and maxilla and can be locally aggressive. Only sporadic cases involving the skull base have been reported. However, this lesion is probably underappreciated because it might be unrecognized or misdiagnosed. We present a case of GCRG of the left temporal bone that was treated surgically via a combined transtemporal-subtemporal approach. A short literature review about diagnosis, clinical behavior and treatment of this tumor entity is given.
