AbstractThe use of the laryngeal mask airways is well established in routine and emergency airway management. Due to its traditional use as a supraglottic airway, it is often overlooked in patients with abnormal airway anatomy such as tracheostomies and laryngeal stomas. We present the unique method of using the laryngeal mask airways externally to facilitate preoxygenation and ventilation in a patient with a laryngeal stoma.
