BackgroundThe management of breast cancer has changed dramatically in the molecular era. Micro-RNAs can contribute to multiple facets of cancer surgery.MethodsThis narrative review, based on years of research on the role of micro-RNAs, focused on the potential of these small, robust RNAs to influence all aspects of breast cancer surgery.ResultsMicro-RNAs have a potential role as biomarkers in the diagnosis, prognosis and evaluation of response to therapy in breast cancer. They may also contribute to future therapeutic strategies.ConclusionThe molecular era has changed understanding of cancer.
