    AbstractA short introduction about common techniques of regional anesthesia and statistical data about the percentage of such procedures carried out in our institute are presented. Important techniques and aims of regional anesthesia are clearly pointed out. The results of our study are discussed in detail, as are the advantages, disadvantages, indications, and contraindications of regional anesthesia. Finally the paper concludes with our impression of regional anesthesia, its significance and status in China.
