AbstractNo visitor arriving at a UK air or seaport is left in any doubt about the British Government's wish to keep these islands free of rabies. But far less publicity is given to warnings about the threat posed to human health by another disease which may be carried by companion animals. John Bonner reports on the campaign to stop the fox tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis from reaching these shores.
