AbstractHealth agencies in Canada provide services to a population that is culturally diverse. Most health care facilities are being asked to accommodate beliefs, values, customs, and practices from many cultures, and health care professionals are increasingly being asked to be sensitive to this need. This article documents illustrative scenarios from health agencies in Alberta and discusses ways in which health professionals can provide high-quality care with deference to various cultural perspectives.
