AbstractBurnout is an epidemic affecting between a third and two-thirds of health care providers in the US. The prevalence and impact of burnout in the health care workforce is increasing, and most interventions thus far have shown limited efficacy. In an ongoing mixed-methods study of establishing a specialty medical home, providers reported gaining interprofessional learning and collegiate support through a patient-centered weekly team meeting that they believed was protective of burnout. Further research is needed into whether medical home models can improve not only patient, but also provider wellbeing.© 2019 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
