White Blood Cell Count and C-Reactive Protein Variations Following Posterior Surgery with Intraoperative Radiotherapy for Spinal Metastasis.
Retrospective case series. ⋯ A high WBC count and CRP level on POD 7 may be used to predict or detect SSI. In particular, a CRP level of 5.0 mg/dL on POD 7 strongly suggests the future development of SSI (sensitivity: 78%, specificity: 74%).
