Comparative StudySevere sepsis and septic shock in pregnancy: indications for delivery and maternal and perinatal outcomes.
To report maternal and perinatal outcomes in obstetric patients with severe sepsis and septic shock. ⋯ ARDS is frequently found in critically ill obstetric patients with severe sepsis/septic shock and is associated with a high risk of emergent cesarean delivery.

Influence of chorionicity in intra-partum management of twin deliveries.
To analyze morbidity and mortality in twin pregnancies as a function of the type of delivery and chorionicity. ⋯ According to the results, vaginal delivery is as safe as elective caesarean section in twin pregnancies where the first twin is in cephalic presentation and the intrapartum management should not vary due to chorionicity.

Isolated intrauterine growth restriction: a survey of Central Association of Obstetricians Gynecologists (CAOG) members.
The objective was to ascertain clinicians' opinions and current management with isolated (no concomitant morbidity) intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). ⋯ There is large practice variation in detection and management of isolated IUGR. This stresses the need for additional studies and a national guideline on its management.

Gestational diabetes mellitus and pregnancy outcomes among Chinese and South Asian women in Canada.
To determine the association between Chinese or South Asian ethnicity and adverse neonatal and maternal outcomes for women with gestational diabetes compared to the general population. ⋯ The risk of complications of gestational diabetes differs significantly between Chinese and South Asian patients and the general population in Ontario. Tailored interventions for gestational diabetes management may be required to improve pregnancy outcomes in high-risk ethnic groups.

Pain management during invasive procedures at Italian NICUs: has anything changed in the last five years?
To ascertain the extent to which neonatal analgesia for invasive procedures has changed in the last 5 years since the publication of Italian guidelines. ⋯ There have been improvements in neonatal analgesia practices in Italy since national guidelines were published, but pain is still undertreated and underscored, especially during major invasive procedures. It is mandatory to address the gap between the recommendations in the guidelines and clinical practice must be addressed through with effective quality improvement initiatives.
