Is the sacro-femoral-pubic angle predictive for pelvic tilt in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients?
This was a retrospective radiographic study. ⋯ Given the high correlation between PT and SFP angle, the SFP angle should be considered a reliable alternative option to PT, which has routinely excellent visibility in coronal films in AIS patients. The predictability was more accurate for AIS patients with thoracic curves than with lumbar curves.

Comparative StudySagittal plane analysis of selective posterior thoracic spinal fusion in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: a comparison study of all pedicle screw and hybrid instrumentation.
To compare sagittal profiles of selective posterior thoracic instrumentation with segmental pedicle screws instrumentation and hybrid (hook and pedicle screw). ⋯ There was no statistically significant difference comparing the sagittal alignment parameter of pedicle screw and hybrid constructs except for selective TK correction have differences. If used properly, both kinds of instrumentation could result in acceptable sagittal profiles when selective thoracic fusions were performed.

Evaluation of quality of life in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis with different distal fusion level: a comparison of L3 versus L4.
Retrospective case-control study. ⋯ This study attempted to elucidate the correlation between the length of fusion and functional outcome; however, it could not identify any difference between different fusion levels. On the basis of short-term results, there were no significant differences in the questionnaire scores between the 2 groups.

A biomechanical cadaveric study of a modified U-shaped interspinous distraction device.
An experimental study. ⋯ The modified version of a U-shape IDD is effective in stabilizing an unstable segment of the lumbar spine. The device does not create deleterious effects on the adjacent vertebrae.

A cadaveric radiographic analysis on the effect of extreme lateral interbody fusion cage placement with supplementary internal fixation on indirect spine decompression.
Cadaveric Biomechanical and Radiographic Analysis. ⋯ The radiographic results reported here using a cadaveric model add validity to the underlying rationale described for the minimally invasive lateral approach technique. Increases in disk height, foraminal and canal areas were not dependent on cage positioning within the disk space. As intraoperative placement of a cage in the central portion of the disk is an easier and safer technique, our results suggest that central placement may be preferable in a clinical setting.
