This case-report presents a 5-year-old girl with gastrointestinal symptoms, who became increasingly confused over the last day before admission. She was believed to be in septic shock or have meningitis and was treated with normal saline infusion, glucocorticoid and antibiotics intravenously. A few days later she was diagnosed with primary adrenal insufficiency (Morbus Addison), which is a very rare disorder among children. If untreated, the condition is lethal, and should always be considered as a differential diagnosis in severely ill patients.

We report a case of accidental intra-arterial injection of propofol in a 37-year-old woman admitted for gynaecological surgery. The patient first reported pain and then demonstrated hyperaemia and swelling of the hand lasting for 15 minutes. ⋯ It is, nevertheless, important to prevent or discover accidental intra-arterial cannulation. When infusion is difficult or when strong pain appears during propofol administration, accidental intra-arterial injection must be excluded.

Case Reports[Hypoglossal nerve palsy after vasculitis of the internal carotid artery].
This case report describes the rare disorder of isolated unilateral hypoglossal nerve palsy (IUHNP) in a healthy 39-year-old woman. The patient was referred to an ENT department with swelling of the left part of the tongue. ⋯ In English-language literature, only one case of IUHNP due to vasculitis of the internal carotid artery has previously been reported. The variety of diseases causing IUHNP is great, therefore thorough examination must be undertaken.

Patients in septic shock have a 33-42% 30-day mortality, but characteristics and outcome have not been assessed in Danish intensive care units (ICUs). ⋯ Patients in septic shock in Danish ICUs are admitted from different hospital locations, have abdominal or pulmonary foci, but the treatment is relatively uniform. The mortality is high, but at par with the best results from other countries.
