There are four major hypertensive disorders in pregnancy: chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia and chronic hypertension with superimposed preeclampsia. The indications and efficacy of antihypertensive treatment of the different hypertensive disorders are assessed. Advantages and disadvantages of different classes of antihypertensive drugs during pregnancy and lactation are described.

In children and adolescents, the normal range of blood pressure (BP) is determined by body size and age. Hypertension is defined as average systolic BP or diastolic BP at or above the 95th percentile for the gender, age and height in question. ⋯ All classes of antihypertensive drugs have been shown to lower BP in children and adolescents. The choice of drug for initial antihypertensive therapy resides in the preference of the treating physician.

Case Reports[Seizure triggered by benzodiazepine receptor antagonist].
Flumazenil is a benzodiazepine antagonist. It is widely used as an antidote in comatose patients suspected of having ingested a benzodiazepine overdose. ⋯ We present a 75-year-old woman, who was brought to the Emergency Department with a drug overdose following a suicide attempt. She developed generalized seizures shortly after the administration of flumazenil.

Case Reports[Subcutaneous abscess following epidural catheterization].
A case of subcutaneous abscess and meningitis symptoms after insertion of epidural catheter is presented. The symptoms were pain at the site of insertion two days after insertion, later fever and neck rigidity. Treatment is surgical intervention after appropriate diagnostics by magnetic resonance imaging, and administration of appropriate antibiotics.

[Propofol sedation administered by nurses for endoscopic procedures].
As an increasing number of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures are performed endoscopically, the demand for sufficient sedation during endoscopy is rising. Propofol sedation administered by nurses (NAPS) has gained increasing popularity. NAPS was introduced at Gentofte Hospital in September 2007 after structured training at Roque Valley Surgical Center in Medford, Oregon, USA. The aim of the present study is to present our results with NAPS. ⋯ NAPS seem to be a suitable method for sedation in endoscopy and should be implemented in Denmark. However, proper training is required in collaboration with anaesthesiologists.
