Sleep disordered breathing (SDB) experiences associated with snoring in adult Nigerians.
Snorers often experience symptoms of sleep disordered breathing (SDB) which is largely undiagnosed in the population. Information on SDB experiences is needed to target high-risk individuals that may benefit from treatment of snoring. ⋯ Adults that snore habitually had significantly more nighttime and daytime symptoms of SDB compared to those who do not snore habitually. Habitual snoring predisposes adult subjects to experiencing symptoms of SDB.

Out-of-pocket payment for health services: constraints and implications for government employees in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, south east Nigeria.
Each year, 100 million people are impoverished globally as a result of expenditure on health. ⋯ This study brings to the fore the fact that most government employees and their dependants in Abakaliki have difficulties in accessing quality health care services via paying for them out-of-pocket.

Comparative StudyA comparison of triage methods for Kenyan women who screen positive for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia by visual inspection of the cervix with acetic acid.
Only about one in seven visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA)-positive women has high-grade disease; further confirmatory testing could rule out false positives. ⋯ VILI had comparable sensitivity and significantly higher specificity compared to VIAM and cervical cytology. VILI may be a promising triage test for screen-positive women in low-resource settings; additional research is required.

Malignant pleural Mesothelioma (MPM) is a very rarely encountered tumor in the normal population. ⋯ This increase, in Region 1 may be associated with continuous use of asbestos.
