Review Case ReportsCoats' disease in Tanzania: first case report and literature review.
Coats' disease is an exudative retinal detachment with vascular telangiectasis occurring mostly in male children, the age group most affected by retinoblastoma. ⋯ Coats' disease is an important differential diagnosis of retinoblastoma. Delay to detect Coats' disease leads to vision loss which necessitates eye enucleation as was in this child.

Management of LBP at primary care level in South Africa: up to standards?
Primary Health Care (PHC) is well suited for management of low back pain (LBP). Prevalence of (chronic) LBP is suspected to be high among visitors of the South African primary care centers, but currently no information exists on prevalence or guideline adherence. ⋯ Current management of LBP at PHC level appears to be ineffective and not conform guidelines. Further South African research should focus on barriers as well as measures to be taken for implementation of LBP guidelines.

Prevalence and outcomes of acute kidney injury in term neonates with perinatal asphyxia.
The kidney is the most damaged organ in asphyxiated full-term infants. The severity of its damage is correlated with the severity of neurological damage. We determined the prevalence of perinatal asphyxia-associated acute kidney injury (AKI). ⋯ AKI is common and associated with poorer outcomes in perinatal asphyxia. Larger studies need to be done to correlate maternal factors and perinatal asphyxia-associated AKI.

The protective effect of ginko bilboa leaves injection on the brain dopamine in the rat model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.
Ginkgo Bilboa injection has had been clinically applied to restore the damaged cells and tissues due to the ischemia through improving the cerebral blood supply and decreasing the oxygen consumption. ⋯ Ginkgo Biloba injection can could significantly inhibit brain I/R injury, as demonstrated by prevention of excessive release of dopamineDA in striatum.
