Provision of access to drug information by prescribers and other health care professionals is important in pharmacotherapy. At the time of this study there was very scanty literature in this area from Africa. ⋯ We found that healthcare professionals were enthusiastically using the drug information centre. It is, therefore, necessary and feasible to establish a DIC in Uganda that will enable these professionals to readily access drug information.

Comparative StudyComparative performance of HbA1c 6.5% for FPG ≥7.0 vs 2hr PG≥11.1 criteria for diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.
International expert committee on the use of HbA1c to diagnose diabetes mellitus in 2009 and World Health Organization (WHO) in 2011 has advocated the use of HbA1c to diagnose diabetes mellitus. ⋯ The results of HbA1c with 2hrpp has better correlation, sensitivity, and PPV compared to HbA1c with FPG.

The association of anthropometric measurements and lipid profiles in Turkish hypertensive adults.
Few studies have associated anthropometric measurements and lipid profile with hypertension in adult populations and to the best of our knowledge none has been done in Turkey ⋯ This study indicates most hypertensive adults surveyed were overweight and obese. Furthermore, age and WC were the important factors that affects the systolic and diastolic BP in both genders.

Report on a cryotherapy service for women with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in a district hospital in western Kenya.
In low-resource settings, cryotherapy can be cost-effective, affordable, and a first-line treatment for cervical intraepithelial neplasia (CIN) of any grade. ⋯ Cryotherapy was acceptable, safe and effective.
