Tobacco dependence has become a global public health concern. We chose to investigate the modifiable factors and motivations during the period of smoking cessation based on the mechanism of nicotine addiction. ⋯ These suggestions related literature-derived factors may increase the success rate of smoking cessation.

Multiple anti-seizure medications use and pattern of seizure control in children with epilepsy at neurology follow up clinic, Tikur Anbessa specialized hospital, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Antiseizure drug treatment is the mainstay of the management of epilepsies. Thirty percent of individuals with epilepsy experience refractory or drug resistant seizures which often require treatment with combinations of antiseizure drugs. ⋯ One third of children with epilepsy attending the pediatric neurology clinics were being managed with multiple Anti-seizure drug therapy. Almost half of the participants had achieved seizure freedom in the past six months.

Heart failure in Nigeria: protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Heart failure is now a significant contributor to the burden of non-communicable diseases in developing countries like Nigeria which is experiencing epidemiologic and demographic transition. The epidemiology of heart failure in this country is poorly characterized. The aim of the review is to determine the prevalence of heart failure, the associated risk factors, the aetiology, management, and outcomes of the condition in the country. ⋯ This will be the first systematic review and meta-analysis of heart failure epidemiology in Nigeria which will hopefully identify gaps for future research and guidance for policy interventions.

Randomized Controlled TrialChinese pediatric Tuina can prevent premature infant feeding intolerance and is conducive to weight gain: a prospective randomized controlled study.
Preterm birth is one of the most important health problems in the world. Feeding intolerance is one of the most common and serious complications of premature infant. The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of Chinese pediatric Tuina on the prevention of feeding intolerance in favour of weight gain in premature infants. ⋯ Chinese pediatric Tuina can effectively prevent the occurrence of feeding intolerance in premature infants and be conducive to the weight gain and improving nutritional status of premature infants.

Genotypic characterization of extended spectrum beta-lactamase in gram negative bacterial contaminants of some door handles in Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun state.
Nosocomial infections due to cross-transmission by microorganisms from inanimate surfaces have become a recognized public health problem. ⋯ This study revealed that door handles of different sections in hospital environment were contaminated by multidrug resistant Gram-negative bacteria encoding ESBL genes.
