The predictive value of eGFR combined with BNP detection in acute kidney injury after acute myocardial infarction.
The combined detection of eGFR and BNP may provide some value in predicting the occurrence of AKI after AMI, and the study is designed to propose and validate this hypothesis. ⋯ The combined detection of eGFR and BNP has a high predictive value for AKI development in AMI patients.

This study aimed to evaluate an improved park's technique to create a natural double eyelid and reduce scar formation. ⋯ This new blepharoplasty method generates a stable, natural double-eyelid line with minimal scarring.

Exploring the barriers and facilitators towards physical activity among church members in Lagos, Nigeria: a qualitative study.
Physical inactivity is substantially linked to the rise in the global burden of non-communicable diseases. Faith-based organizations are recognized as potential partners for sustainable health interventions. ⋯ Several multi-level factors influence physical activity among church members. While it is pertinent to address personal factors, family and community factors also promote PA, therefore, group-level interventions may be warranted. Strategies that address the socio-cultural norms that serve as barriers to PA should also be included in the design of church-based PA programmes.

An epidemiological investigation of gallstone disease among patients admitted to Shahid Rahimi teaching hospital in Khorramabad in 2016-2020.
Gallstones are a significant global health issue, imposing enormous costs to patients and the healthcare system, annually. ⋯ The present study findings indicated that increasing age, female gender, the lack of epigastric pain, upper quadrant pain, anemia, hypertension, and a family history of this disease increased the risk of generating gallstone disease.

What can traditional plant therapy do in the face of Covid-19? Examples from traditional Chinese medicine.
Until June 2022, more than 540.9 million people had been diagnosed with COVID-19, and the pandemic had claimed more than six million lives worldwide. Two years after fighting the virus, we faced a more uncertain position. SARS-CoV-2 is constantly mutating and reappears regularly, particularly with Omicron variants showing high genetic variation and immune escape mechanisms. The efficacy and duration of protection of existing vaccines against new variants of SARS-CoV-2 remains uncertain. The world needs time to develop new variant-specific drugs, including monoclonal topics, vaccines, and other antiviral drugs, to fight the epidemic. ⋯ TCM can obtain obvious curative effect in symptomatic treatment, has strong anti-inflammatory effect, and can effectively reduce symptoms and patients' pain.
