A literature review has been carried out to analyse the clinical burden, the economic impact of influenza and the efficiency of influenza vaccination programmes in Spain. The average incidence rate of influenza in Spain is 2,069 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with a significant impact on mortality and a reduction of health-related quality of life. ⋯ Vaccination is an efficient measure for its prevention and can generate savings for the healthcare system. In conclusion, influenza is a significant health problem which generates a major economic and clinical burden annually; the profiling and measurement of which must be improved.

Immunotherapy is changing the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in adults and children. However, regardless of these new therapies, allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) still play a key role in the treatment of ALL, although it is uncertain how these new therapies will impact on the transplant procedure and indications. This article reviews the indications of allo-HCT for children and adults diagnosed with ALL, the different sources and conditioning regimens for transplantation as well as the role of measurable residual diseases pre- and post-HCT in the era of the new therapies for ALL.

Observational Study
Adherence to treatment of hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia and diabetes in an elderly population of a Spanish cohort.
Sub-optimal adherence to treatment in the general population has been highlighted in several studies, especially in the elderly and/or chronic patients. This study aims to describe the adherence to treatment of diabetes mellitus, dyslipidaemia and hypertension, and to identify the factors that influence adherence. ⋯ The results obtained show a sub-optimal adherence to treatment for the 3chronic diseases studied. Adherence increased with the number of chronic diseases, while sex, age and number of drugs did not show a consistent effect. It is necessary to investigate if there are other factors that may influence therapeutic adherence, since improving adherence may have a greater impact on health than any progress in therapies.
