Serum and urinary angiotensinogen levels as prognostic indicators in acute kidney injury: a prospective study.
The delayed increase in serum creatinine levels poses challenges in the timely diagnosis of acute kidney injury. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum angiotensinogen and urinary angiotensinogen levels and the prognosis of renal function in patients diagnosed with acute kidney injury. ⋯ The findings suggest that urinary angiotensinogen levels can serve as an indicator of the severity of acute kidney injury. Monitoring urinary angiotensinogen levels could potentially contribute to the prognosis assessment and management of acute kidney injury patients.

Role of increased plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 and vitronectin in gestational diabetes mellitus.
The aim of this study was to analyze the second-trimester levels of vitronectin and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 in gestational diabetes mellitus. ⋯ This study revealed that second-trimester vitronectin and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 are increased in gestational diabetes mellitus and vitronectin could be a candidate for the prediction of gestational diabetes mellitus.

Selvester score and myocardial performance index in acute anterior myocardial infarction.
The simplified Selvester QRS score is a parameter for estimating myocardial damage in ST-elevation myocardial infarction. ST-elevation myocardial infarction leads to varying degrees of impairment in left ventricular systolic and diastolic function. Myocardial performance index is a single parameter that can predict combined left ventricular systolic and diastolic performance. ⋯ The post-procedural Selvester score can predict lateral tissue Doppler-derived myocardial performance index and conventional myocardial performance index with high sensitivity and acceptable specificity in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention for acute anterior myocardial infarction.

Association between antibiotic prophylaxis and adverse perinatal outcomes in premature rupture of membranes.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between antibiotic prophylaxis and adverse perinatal outcomes in premature rupture of membranes. ⋯ No association was found between antibiotic prophylaxis and the presence of adverse perinatal outcomes in pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes between 24 and 33+6 weeks of gestation.
