Analysis of intraoperative modifiable factors to prevent acute kidney injury after elective noncardiac surgery: intraoperative hypotension and crystalloid administration related to acute kidney injury.
The optimal intraoperative blood pressure range and crystalloid administration protocol for the prevention of acute kidney injury (AKI) after elective noncardiac surgery remain unknown. ⋯ Our findings suggest that anesthesiologists should avoid intraoperative hypotension as well as either restrictive or liberal (as opposed to moderately restrictive) crystalloid administration in patients with decreased eGFR. Intraoperative blood pressure and crystalloid administration protocol are major modifiable factors that must be optimized to prevent postoperative AKI.

Continuous pericapsular nerve group block for postoperative pain management in total hip arthroplasty: report of two cases.
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is one of the surgical procedures associated with severe postoperative pain. Appropriate postoperative pain management is effective for promoting early ambulation and reducing the length of hospital stay. Effects of conventional pain management strategies, such as femoral nerve block and fascia iliaca block, are inadequate in some cases. ⋯ Continuous PENG block and LFCN block were effective for postoperative pain management in patients who underwent THA. PENG block did not cause postoperative motor blockade.

Remimazolam anesthesia for cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass: a case report.
Remimazolam has less cardiovascular depressant effects than propofol in non-cardiac surgical patients. However, the efficacy and safety of remimazolam in cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) have not been reported. We present a case of successful anesthetic management using remimazolam in cardiac surgery with CPB. ⋯ Remimazolam can be used the same as other existing anesthetics in cardiac surgery with CPB.

Anesthetic considerations for cesarean delivery in a parturient with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia: a case report.
Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), also known as Rendu-Osler-Weber syndrome, is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by mucocutaneous telangiectasia and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). There are some anesthetic considerations for cesarean delivery in a parturient with HHT. ⋯ HHT should be considered as a differential diagnosis when parturients develop pulmonary hemorrhage. In a cesarean delivery of parturients with HHT, spinal MRI during pregnancy can help in deciding the anesthetic procedure to be used.
