to evaluate diagnostic value and image quality of T2-weighted Three-dimensional isotropic turbo spin-echo (SPACE) in comparison with T2-weighted two-dimensional turbo spin-echo (TSE) sequences for comprehensive evaluation of lumbar spine pathologies. ⋯ 3D SPACE sequence for lumbar spine MRI proved to have higher SNR, CNR, and visibility for all regions of lumbar spine except vertebrae and disc. Inter-observer and inter-method agreements for pathologic indexes between 3D SPACE and 2D TSE sequences were substantial and 3D SPACE had a higher inter-observer agreement and less scan time. Therefore, T2 weighted 3D SPACE sequence, and its MPR might be an excellent alternative for 2D TSE in sagittal, axial, and coronal planes, especially for patients with abnormal curvature of the lumbar spine.

To differentiate prostate cancer lesions in transition zone by diffusion-weighted-MRI (DW-MRI). ⋯ The diagnosis efficiency of IVIM parameters was not superior to ADC in the diagnosis of PCa in TZ. Moreover, the combination of mean ADC and mean D did not perform better than the parameters alone significantly; It is feasible to stratify the pathological grade of prostate cancer by mean ADC.

To assess intra-observer, inter-observer and inter-modality (CT vs. MRI) reproducibility of liver surface nodularity (LSN) scores measured with software used for detection of liver fibrosis. ⋯ LSN measurement is highly reproducible with NCT and post-contrast T1W HBP on MRI, with different results obtained between CT and MRI.

To investigate dual-energy spectral CT in characterization of hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) in patients with chronic liver disease. ⋯ This study reveals that spectral imaging is an excellent qualitative as well as a quantitative tool for assessing and predicting hepatocellular carcinoma in cirrhotic patients.

The aim of this study was to systematically reinvestigate the first human mummy that was ever analyzed with X-ray imaging in 1896, using dual-source computed tomography (DSCT) in order to compare the earliest and latest imaging technologies, to estimate preservation, age at death, sex, anatomical variants, paleopathological findings, mummification, embalming and wrapping of the child mummy from ancient Egypt. Radiocarbon dating was used to determine the mummy's age and to specify the child's living period in the Egyptian chronology. ⋯ Our results highlight the enormous progress achieved form earliest to latest imaging technology for advanced mummy research using the first human mummy investigated with X-ray. With the application of DSCT, detailed knowledge regarding age at death, sex, diseases, death, and mummification of a child from Ptolemaic Egypt are revealed while considering the temporary rites of body treatment and burial for children.
