This study aimed to clarify the feasibility and justification of pancreatic head sparing (PHS) enucleation for patients with agenesis of the dorsal pancreas (ADP) associated with a solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT). ⋯ PHS enucleation seems to be feasible and justifiable for SPT patients with ADP in terms of surgical and survival outcomes, and this approach could be recommended to avoid pancreatic insufficiency.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), is a chronic metabolic disease, characterized by the presence of hyperglycemia and insulin resistance. The key treatment strategies for T2DM include modification of lifestyle, medications, and continuous glucose monitoring. DM patients often have DM-associated morbidities and comorbidities; however, disorders of musculoskeletal system are often neglected, compared to other major systems in DM patients. ⋯ At least, one of the key treatment strategies as an establishment of healthy lifestyle may work, because it improves the status of insulin resistance and subsequently helps DM control, prevents the DM-related micro- and macrovascular injury, and possibly strengthens the general performance of musculoskeletal system. With stronger musculoskeletal system support, the risk of "fall" may be decreased, because it is associated with fracture. Although the ADA available in the market does not satisfy the policy of "To do one and to get more" yet, we are looking forward to seeing the continuously advanced technology of drug development on diabetic control, and hope to see their extra-sugar-lowering effects.

Mydriatic drugs are often used in ophthalmic clinics for pupil dilatation to assess the optic nerve and retina. Clinical studies have indicated that an increase in intraocular pressure (IOP) after pupil dilation is noted in open-angle glaucoma patients, those with narrow angles and in normal subjects. Asians are more likely to have narrow angles. Moreover, age-related cataract may increase the crowdedness of the angle. This study aimed to assess the effects of mydriatic pupil dilatation on IOP in an elderly Chinese population. ⋯ Our results revealed that the increase in IOP after pharmacological pupil dilatation was minimal, and the incidence of acute angle-closure attack was insignificant. Hyperopic status was the only factor related to an increase in IOP of > 4 mmHg. Caution should be exercised if one is hyperopic or has a history of glaucoma and rechecking IOP in these subjects is suggested after pharmacological mydriasis.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is among the leading causes of cancer-related death worldwide. The molecular pathogenesis of HCC involves multiple signaling pathways. This study utilizes systems and bioinformatic approaches to investigate the pathogenesis of HCC. ⋯ This study identified a crucial gene coexpression network associated with the prognosis of hepatitis B virus-related HCC. The identified hub genes may provide insights for HCC pathogenesis and may be potential prognostic markers or therapeutic targets.
