Estrogen receptor (ER) testing performed using immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a critical predictive tool for breast cancer treatment. This study aimed to investigate the use of tonsil control for monitoring ER staining and hypothesize that optimal staining would reduce interlaboratory variations. ⋯ Tonsil tissue is an ideal control for monitoring ER staining and can serve as a reference for determining the lower bound for ER positivity. Optimal ER staining and appropriate references for ER positivity can further improve ER IHC quality.

This study aimed to investigate the changes in the bladder neck (BN) and urinary symptoms using extracorporeal magnetic innervation (ExMI) therapy before and after performing passive pelvic floor exercises. ⋯ The ExMI is effective for SUI by strengthening the pelvic floor muscle without significantly decreasing BN mobility.

Hearing loss is a global health issue and its etiopathologies involve complex molecular pathways. The ubiquitin-proteasome system has been reported to be associated with cochlear development and hearing loss. The gene related to anergy in lymphocytes ( GRAIL ), as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, has not, as yet, been examined in aging-related and noise-induced hearing loss mice models. ⋯ The present data demonstrated that GRAIL deficiency protects against aging-related and noise-induced hearing loss. The mechanism involved needs to be further clarified from the potential association with synaptic modulation, inflammation, and oxidative stress.
