Meta AnalysisVitamin D supplementation in pregnant women or infants for preventing allergic diseases: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
It is still unclear if and to what extent antenatal or infant or childhood vitamin D supplementation would affect the development of allergy diseases later in life. This study aimed to review the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women, infants, or children for the prevention of allergies. ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42020167747).

Autophagy, not apoptosis, plays a role in lumen formation of eccrine gland organoids.
Sweat secreted by eccrine sweat glands is transported to the skin surface through the lumen. The eccrine sweat gland develops from the initial solid bud to the final gland structure with a lumen, but how the lumen is formed and the mechanism of lumen formation have not yet been fully elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of lumen formation of eccrine gland organoids (EGOs). ⋯ Using our model of eccrine gland 3D-reconstruction in Matrigel, we determined that autophagy rather than apoptosis plays a role in the lumen formation of EGOs.

Deficiency of two-pore segment channel 2 contributes to systemic lupus erythematosus via regulation of apoptosis and cell cycle.
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease, and the mechanism of SLE is yet to be fully elucidated. The aim of this study was to explore the role of two-pore segment channel 2 (TPCN2) in SLE pathogenesis. ⋯ TPCN2 might be a potential protective factor against SLE.

Risk factors of major intraoperative bleeding and postoperative bleeding associated with endoscopic submucosal dissection for gastric neoplasms.
Endoscopic resection bleeding (ERB) classification was proposed by the authors' team to evaluate the severity of intraoperative bleeding (IB) during endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). This study aimed to evaluate the application of ERB classification and to analyze the risk factors of major IB (MIB) and postoperative bleeding (PB) associated with ESD for gastric neoplastic lesions. ⋯ Proximal location of lesions was a significant risk factor of MIB. Additionally, CKD and MIB (ERB-c3) were independent risk factors of PB. More attention should be paid to these high-risk patients for MIB and PB.
