Value of frozen section examination in diagnosis and treatment of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
Invasive cancer of the cervix is considered a preventable disease because it has a long pre-invasive state, cervical cytology screening programs are currently available, and treatment of pre-invasive lesions is effective. We tested the accuracy of frozen section examination (FSE) of cone specimens to identify the endocervical margin and rule out invasion in patients with high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). ⋯ FSE is a rapid and reliable method for evaluating CKC specimens. It can identify frank invasion, permit adequate treatment in a one-stage procedure, and reliably detect clear resection margins. Since discrepancies do exist and may result in inappropriate treatment, further research is required to decrease these discrepancies and avoid missing even one case.

Pilon fractures: a new classification and therapeutic strategies.
Operative decision-making of Pilon fractures are of great challenges until now. The aim of this study was to investigate the guidance of the four-column theory in decision-making therapeutic strategies for Pilon fractures and its result. ⋯ As a simple and comprehensive classification, the four-column classification can contribute to reasonable operation decision-making and good prognosis of Pilon fracture.

Preoperative surgical planning for intracranial meningioma resection by virtual reality.
The Dextroscope system by Volume Interactions (Singapore) had been applied to minimally invasive neurosurgery in many units. This system enables the neurosurgeon to interact intuitively with the three-dimensional graphics in a direct manner resembling the way one communicates with the real objects. In the paper, we explored its values in pre-operation surgical planning for intracranial meningiomas resection. ⋯ According to the virtual reality planning, neurosurgeons could get more anatomic information about meningioma and its surrounding structures, especially important vessels, and choose the best approach for tumor resection, which would lead to better prognosis for patients.

White blood cells contribute to patient-specific warfarin dose for Han Chinese.
Warfarin is the most commonly prescribed anticoagulant worldwide. Factors which influence warfarin's inter-individual requirements including age, weight, and genetic factors explained about 50% of dose variance, and unidentified factors still remain. The aim of this study was to explore whether white blood cell count affects warfarin dose requirements. ⋯ White blood cell count has a small but significant contribution to warfarin dose requirements in Han Chinese.

HIV prevalence and influencing factors analysis of sentinel surveillance among men who have sex with men in China, 2003 - 2011.
Men who have sex with men (MSM) have been impacted by HIV and now as an important driver of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in China. This study collected HIV sentinel surveillance system data on the MSM population to describe the characteristics and trends of the HIV epidemic among MSM in China from 2003 to 2011. ⋯ HIV prevalence in MSM populations is rapidly and widely distributed. MSM who are in heterosexual marriages may be a bridge group transmitting HIV to their heterosexual partners. The risky sexual behavior among MSM will remain a serious and important driver of China's AIDS epidemic over the next period of time. Intervention need to be strengthened, as does the effective implementation of measures to control AIDS and prevent it from spreading further.
