Comparative StudyComparison of the efficacy of the pulsed bipolar system and conventional electrosurgery in laparoscopic myomectomy - a retrospective matched control study.
Comparing the safety and effectiveness of the pulsed bipolar (PK) system and conventional electrosurgery in laparoscopic myomectomy (LM). ⋯ Our findings indicate that PK system is more effective in LM when compared with conventional electrosurgery. PK system has advantage over conventional electrosurgery in less blood loss and may offer an alternative option for patients undergoing LM.

Clinical TrialSimultaneous use of mifepristone and misoprostol for early pregnancy termination.
Simultaneous mifepristone 200mg and vaginal misoprostol 800μg produces a complete abortion rate of approximately 90% at up to 63 days of gestation. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of concurrent administration of mifepristone 200mg and vaginal misoprostol 600μg with respect to early medical abortion. ⋯ Concurrent administration of oral mifepristone 200mg and vaginal misoprostol 600μg is an efficacious regimen for medical abortion of pregnancies up to 49 days of gestation.

Comparative StudyTransvaginal sonographic criteria for the diagnosis of adenomyosis based on histopathologic correlation.
To evaluate the accuracy of different transvaginal sonographic criteria in the diagnosis of adenomyosis, and to determine the most useful sonographic feature by comparison with histopathologic results. ⋯ The presence of subendometrial echogenic linear striations, a heterogeneous myometrial echotexture, and myometrial anterior-posterior asymmetry on transvaginal ultrasonography supports the diagnosis of adenomyosis. Among the transvaginal ultrasonographic findings consistent with the diagnosis of adenomyosis, subendometrial linear striations had the highest diagnostic accuracy.

Case ReportsTemporary cross-clamping of the infrarenal abdominal aorta during cesarean hysterectomy to control operative blood loss in placenta previa increta/percreta.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of temporary cross-clamping of the infrarenal abdominal aorta for controlling operative blood loss during cesarean hysterectomy in severe invasive placentation. ⋯ With this limited experience, we are encouraged by the apparent reduction in operative blood loss after the use of temporary cross-clamping of the infrarenal abdominal aorta during cesarean hysterectomy. Further investigation is needed to determine the efficacy and safety of this procedure.
