Review Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of heparin therapy for preventing venous thromboembolism in acute spinal cord injury.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a frequent complication in patients with acute spinal cord injury (SCI) and may have serious consequences. This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of heparin and low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) venous thromboprophylaxis in patients with acute SCI. ⋯ In this meta-analysis, heparin exhibited protective effects compared with placebo or no treatment with respect to the occurrence of VTE; there were no differences between LMWH and unfractionated heparin with ret to thromboembolism prophylaxis efficacy. LMWH did not reduce the risk of bleeding compared with LDUH.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Combined versus single application of tranexamic acid in total knee and hip arthroplasty: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
To compare the efficacy and safety of the combined application of both intravenous and topical tranexamic acid versus the single use of either application in patients with total knee and hip arthroplasty. ⋯ Combined administration of tranexamic acid in total knee and hip arthroplasty was associated with significantly reduced total blood loss, postoperative hemoglobin decline, drainage volume, and transfusion requirements. Based on the limitations of current meta-analysis, well-designed, high-quality RCTs with long-term follow-up are still required.

This study mainly aimed to evaluate complications of cement leakage for osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures by PVP using HVC, and access the clinical efficacy. ⋯ PVP using HVC not only can reduce cement leakage, especially in the paravertebral area and peripheral vein, but also has satisfactory clinical effect.
