Multicenter StudyOne-Year Follow-Up Results of a Multicenter, Single-Arm, Objective Performance Criteria-Controlled International Clinical Study of the Safety and Efficacy of the Minerva Endometrial Ablation System.
To assess the safety and effectiveness of the Minerva endometrial ablation system for treating excessive uterine bleeding in premenopausal women. ⋯ The Minerva system was found to be safe and effective for treating patients suffering from menorrhagia. The procedure is quick and effective, does not require endometrial pretreatment, and precludes the need for additional surgical interventions to manage menorrhagia.

Endometrial Ablation in Women With Abnormal Uterine Bleeding Related to Ovulatory Dysfunction: A Cohort Study.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of endometrial ablation (EA) for the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) associated with ovulatory dysfunction. ⋯ EA is effective in women with AUB-O and can be used as an alternative to hysterectomy or in patients with contraindications to medical management of AUB-O.

Observational StudyHysteroscopic Resection in Fertility-Sparing Surgery for Atypical Hyperplasia and Endometrial Cancer: Safety and Efficacy.
To evaluate the rate of intrauterine adhesions after hysteroscopic resection of hyperplastic and/or cancer areas and the efficacy of combined treatment. ⋯ Hysteroscopic resection of hyperplastic and/or cancer areas before high dosage progestin therapy seems to be a safe and effective approach in the management of ACH and in patients with early EC who wish to preserve fertility.

Effect of Intraperitoneal Bupivacaine on Postoperative Pain in the Gynecologic Oncology Patient.
To evaluate if the administration of intraperitoneal bupivacaine decreased postoperative pain in patients undergoing minimally invasive gynecologic and gynecologic cancer surgery. ⋯ One-hundred thirty patients were included in the study. The patients who received intraperitoneal bupivacaine had lower median narcotic use on the day of surgery and the first postoperative day compared with those who did not receive intraperitoneal bupivacaine (day 0: 7.0 mg morphine equivalents vs 11.0 mg, p = .007; day 1: .3 mg vs 1.7 mg, p = .0002). The median patient-reported pain scores were lower on the day of surgery in the intraperitoneal bupivacaine group (2.7 vs 3.2, p = .05) CONCLUSIONS: The administration of intraperitoneal bupivacaine was associated with improved postoperative pain control in patients undergoing minimally invasive gynecologic and gynecologic cancer surgery and should be further evaluated in a prospective study.

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and Urinary Tract Injury: Experience in a Health Maintenance Organization.
To evaluate the incidence, detection, characteristics, and management of urinary tract injury in a cohort undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy, and to identify potential risk factors for urinary tract injury with laparoscopic hysterectomy. ⋯ Urinary tract injury occurred in 1.3% of laparoscopic hysterectomies, with ureteral injuries almost as common as bladder injuries. Normal intraoperative cystoscopy findings did not exclude the presence of ureteral injury.
