Adherence to antiplatelet and statin therapy by patients with acute coronary syndrome following discharge.
To assess levels of medication adherence to antiplatelet and statins therapy among acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients 30 days after hospital discharge and identify the main barriers to medication adherence and the main sociodemographic and clinical variables associated with treatment adherence. ⋯ The findings of the present study indicate high rates of probable nonadherence to medication among ACS patients 30 days after hospital discharge, this information could help nurses to choose specific nursing interventions that could improve adherence in patients' daily routines.
