The purpose of this investigation is to present a preliminary clinical experience in transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) with gelatin sponge microparticles (GSMs) for barcelona clinic liver cancer (BCLC) Stage C and large hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients in China. ⋯ From our preliminary clinical experience, GSMs-TACE in the treatment of BCLC Stage C and large HCC appears to offer favorable survival and tumor response with low morbidity. However, further prospective studies are required to assess its safety and efficacy.

Albumin-globulin ratio (AGR) has been reported as an independent risk factor for survival outcomes of a variety of malignancies. We aimed to further examine the prognostic value of AGR for urothelial carcinoma of bladder (UCB) using a propensity score-matched (PSM) analysis. ⋯ Low AGR was a significant unfavorable factor for UCB patients treated with radical cystectomy. This viable parameter should be enrolled in the pretreatment risk stratification for UCB.

The detection rate of synchronous multiple primary lung cancers (SMPLC) showed an increasing trend year by year. In an attempt to identify the optimal treatment strategy for SMPLC, we retrospectively analyzed our surgical treatment outcomes of a series of patients with SMPLC. ⋯ SMPLC could be considered to be a local disease rather than the systemic disease. Surgical treatment is an effective approach for patients with SMPLC. Mutational status of EGFR could be used as a diagnostic criterion, especially in patients with SMPLA.
