The accuracy of computed tomography in detecting surgically resectable blebs or bullae in primary spontaneous pneumothorax.
Chest computed tomography is commonly used in patients with primary spontaneous pneumothorax to detect the presence of pulmonary blebs or bullae. The aim of this study is to calculate the accuracy of chest computed tomography to detect surgically resectable blebs or bullae in patients with primary spontaneous pneumothorax. ⋯ The sensitivity of the chest computed tomography scan is high in detecting surgically resectable pulmonary blebs or bullae. However, the specificity is low. This may lead to overdiagnosis of the patients to have pulmonary blebs and bullae. Therefore, the routine use of chest computed tomography scan before the surgical exploration in patients with primary spontaneous pneumothorax should depend on the clinical judgment.

Comparative StudyRadiation exposure related to cardiovascular CT examination: comparison between conventional 64-MDCT and third-generation dual-source MDCT.
To compare radiation exposure associated with daily practice cardiovascular (CV) examinations performed on two different multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) scanners, a conventional 64-MDCT and a third-generation dual-source (DS) MDCT. ⋯ In daily practice, CV examinations CTDI, DLP, ED, ET and TV were lower and PF was higher with 192 × 2-DSCT compared to 64-MDCT.

Analyses of fracture line distribution in intra-articular distal radius fractures.
To assess the association between the fracture line distribution and the location of comminution in intra-articular distal radius fractures by building fracture mapping. ⋯ This study redefines a new method for the classification of intra-articular fractures of the distal radius, which allows doctors to have a clearer understanding of the characteristics of distal radius fractures. Moreover, the application value in fracture diagnosis is more significant, and the best surgical approach is selected for different types.

Machine learning-based radiomic models to predict intensity-modulated radiation therapy response, Gleason score and stage in prostate cancer.
To develop different radiomic models based on the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomic features and machine learning methods to predict early intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) response, Gleason scores (GS) and prostate cancer (Pca) stages. ⋯ Radiomic models developed by MR image features and machine learning approaches are noninvasive and easy methods for personalized prostate cancer diagnosis and therapy.

Lumbosacral transitional vertebra in the young men population with low back pain: anatomical considerations and degenerations (transitional vertebra types in the young men population with low back pain).
To evaluate the prevalence of subtypes of congenital lumbosacral transition vertebra (LSTV) in young male populations with low back pain (LBP) and their relationship to lumbar disc and facet degeneration. ⋯ In young male patients with LBP, LSTV was found to be high in frequency and mostly occurred to be subtype I. LSTV type I and associated disk and facet degeneration were found to be remarkable in this group. Coronal T2 STIR images are useful in showing lumbosacral region anomalies and variants, and should be included in the routine lumbar MRI protocol.
