There is a need to provide increased evidence on effective interventions to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). ⋯ RHIS and ICS data should be increasingly used for impact studies on maternal and neonatal health in LMICs.

To evaluate the effect of prophylactic ondansetron on spinal anesthesia-induced hypotension and bradycardia among patients undergoing elective cesarean deliveries. ⋯ Prophylactic intravenous ondansetron significantly reduced hypotension and heart-rate fluctuations among patients undergoing elective cesarean deliveries under spinal anesthesia.
